The English shook their heads when Harry Kane, the second-highest scoring player in Premier League history, opted to continue outside the ball island in 2024. Kane knew exactly what he was doing. 133 goals in 136 games. The final, first title and more to come. So how has his move to Bayern Munich affected Kane’s reputation in England? In the Bundesliga club’s current contract with Harry Kane, there was a buyout clause for the summer of 2026. It was set at around €65 million, a sum the rivals could easily justify investing in the goal guarantee. In mid-February, Honorary President of Bavaria and seventh father of the house, Uli Hoeness, confirmed that he was no longer active.

“I definitely want to extend Harry Kane. He is something of a lucky match for us. Since his buyout clause for the summer of 2026 has now expired, and his contract runs until the summer of 2027, we are not under any pressure at the moment,” Hoeness told Bild.

In February, Eberl gave an update on the process with Kane.

“We’re talking. This does not mean that the negotiations have started yet. We are in intense dialogue with Harry and then we will follow the next steps,” Eberl told Sky Sports.

This week, Bayern boss Eberl is also asked about Kane’s contract that expires in the summer of 2027.

“We’ll talk to Harry in the summer,” he replies confidently. Kane has no reason to leave Bayern. Eberl knows that.
