HamKam has officially confirmed that Jakob Michelsen will leave as the club’s head coach, as he will start in a new position from August 1.

The club’s chairman Tom Håkonsen stated: “Jakob has delivered strong results as our head coach and it is only natural that others also notice him and the results he has achieved. Our Danish head coach has received a job offer he both wants to accept and start in August 1. We at HamKam have chosen to respect and accept his wish”

Michelsen, who joined HamKam at the beginning of the 2022 season, has averaged 1.26 points per game over 115 games for the Norwegian club. Under his leadership, HamKam has overperformed in relation to the club’s size and resources.

Currently, HamKam is in 13th place in the Eliteserien with 11 points from 9 games.

The 44-year-old Danish coach has previous experience from Hobro, Skive, SønderjyskE, Hammarby and OB in his coaching career. The club states that Michelsen will leave HamKam no later than July 31.
