Kristiansund ended up in 11th place in the Eliteserien last season, a little closer to the qualification place than what was good for the nerves of the club’s supporters.

Head coach Amund Skiri has brought in Magne Hoseth who replaces Sander Nyland who a few days ago took an assistant coaching job in Sarpsborg 08. – The 44-year-old who for a number of years was a Molde player ended his career in Kristiansund, it was also there that he started his coaching career in 2019 before he three years later became head coach in the Faroe Islands and had unexpected success in Europe with the island’s biggest club Klaksvik.

Magne Hoset is happy to be back, something he says on Kristiansund’s pages: It is good to be back in the KBK family. I come to a place where I am wanted, and where I feel I have something to contribute. I look forward to getting back on the field again, and I know that it is a good match for me with KBK and with Amund”

Hoseth held the same role between 2019 and 2022, before taking over as head coach of Faroese Klaksvik in 2023. There, Hoseth achieved great success and in January 2024 was brought to Danish Lyngby. He only stayed there for just under two months before he was fired with an apology from the club they had been so messy in their behavior.

In the last six months of 2024, he was the head coach of B36 Torshavn, also in the Faroe Islands.

“He got Klaksvik out into Europe, he has experienced adversity in Lyngby. Now he comes here highly motivated to help us. He is someone who will help lift all the young players. And he is a typical fieldman who will develop players and teams,” says Skiri.
