A ten-month ban for illegal betting on football matches. Ten months for Newcastle without their €70 million investment on the pitch. Sandro Tonali returned in August, and has shown what an eminent midfielder he is. The Italian helped Newcastle to a League Cup title and now also a fight for a Champions League ticket. If the Italian media is right, Newcastle could once again “be punished” through Tonali’s extra-sporting activities.
The Italian news agencies ANSA and AGI report Tonali and 11 other football players are being investigated for playing poker and placing bets on sporting events via illegal betting providers. In addition to Tonali, there will be profiles such as Angel di Maria, Leandro Paredes, Weston McKennie and Nicolo Fagioli.

The betting does not go on football matches, but Tonali is said to have received financial rewards for recruiting other players to the illegal betting sites, it is reported.
Newcastle definitely don’t need this now.
