An absolutely outstanding Nyland on the line against Valencia on Friday could not save Sevilla from defeat, nor save the Sevilla coach’s job. Javier Garcia Piementa got ten months in the job. On Sunday, Sevilla confirmed they had fired the fifth coach Nyland has had since 2023. A few hours later, a replacement was confirmed.
This time, a short-term deal will be invested with a coach the club knows well. Joaquin Caparros was head coach of Sevilla 2000-05, after which he has jumped in on two short temporary assignments. The last four games of the 2017/18 season and later eleven games towards the end of the 2018/19 season.

Now the 69-year-old is ready for a fourth round.
