Just one day after RMC journalist Daniel Riolo revealed that Kylian Mbappé was sent for an MRI of his right knee – instead of the injured left – a new report has raised further concerns about the club’s medical routines.

According to several sources quoted by L’Équipe, Real Madrid have made a similar mistake with Eduardo Camavinga. After the Frenchman injured his left ankle in the match against Athletic Club in San Mamés on December 3, the club reportedly performed an MRI of the wrong leg.

The match in question ended in a 3-0 win for Madrid, with Camavinga scoring the team’s second goal.

The information originally came as part of the larger Mbappé case, but spread quickly and received a lot of attention within a few minutes.

Antoine Simonneau, L’Équipe’s correspondent in Madrid, stated that “it would not be the first time” such a mistake has occurred, referring to the Mbappé case.

Camavinga played 69 minutes against Athletic Club. Four days later, he was still on the bench for the game against Celta Vigo.

He was then out for two weeks with the ankle injury, missing the games against Manchester City on 10 December, Alavés on 14 December and Talavera on 17 December. He eventually came back as a substitute against Sevilla, and only got 18 minutes of playing time.
