This summer, Marc Guehi was on his way to Liverpool. The English media took it almost as a matter of course, but at the very end of the transfer window, the door slammed shut at Selhurst Park. Liverpool were also not interested in going even further for the player, who would walk out as a free agent next summer anyway. Now the English centre-back is once again linked with an exit, something Palace manager Oliver Glasner sees no reason to hide.

Manchester City are affected by injuries in central defence, according to Sky Sports, a bid is therefore being made clear for Marc Guehi. Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner was asked at Tuesday’s press conference if he thinks Guehi to City in January is a possibility.

“It could be. I’m not so naïve that I don’t know that if a big offer comes from City, and Marc wants to leave, it will happen,” Glasner begins, according to the Times.

“Everyone wants him to play for Crystal Palace, sign a new contract and stay here forever. Conversely, the contracts expire in the summer, and if some clubs come, there will come a time when the club considers that the financial considerations weigh more heavily than the sporting ones, and that they must therefore act. There will be a limit, where if Marc wants to change, and the money is above that limit, then it will happen,” the manager said. Who himself has the falcon eye of English journalists on him as a top candidate to take over the coaching job at Manchester United next summer.
