When Sir Jim Ratcliffe energetically came in as the new United boss, he was asked what type of player from club history he would have brought in if possible. It didn’t take many seconds to pause for thought before Britain’s richest responded: Paul Scholes. The 50-year-old Scholes is staying fit, but is of course not relevant. United icon Paul Scholes has signed up for a five-a-side game that will give supporters the opportunity to play alongside their hero.

The match will only last 60 minutes and will involve a squad of 15 players. Substitutions will be made every three minutes, which means that those who take to the pitch will not get to enjoy a full match in Scholes’ company. Nevertheless, the willingness to pay is great for a few minutes on the pitch with Scholes.
Each player will have to pay £750 to be part of the match that will be played on September 3, reports Goal.
And where? On the rooftop pitch at the Hotel Football in Manchester – owned by Scholes’ former teammates Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs. Run and buy.
