After the 5-2 peel on aggregate against Bodø/Glimt, a Goliath vs. David match that much of the world’s press has covered, Inter Milan was made a laughing stock in Italy by the rivals’ supporters. Until the Italians realized this was also a big loss for their football nation. First Haaland and the gang in the World Cup qualifiers, then Jens Petter Hague and the gang against Serie A’s best club. It was therefore with great excitement that Inter Milan were followed in the first Serie A game after Bodø/Glimt’s loss at San Siro in midweek. There was a sigh of relief from the Inter supporters.
Because on Saturday, the Inter players got back on their feet. Genoa in Serie A was the opponent, and here the Milan club was superior.

The first goal came after almost half an hour, when Federico Dimarco had found space in the box, from where he tapped the ball into the goal from an acute angle. The same Dimarco who went towards the Bodø/Glimt goal with a cannon shot, masterfully saved by Nikita Haikin for one of UEFA’s five selected best saves.
Genoa then pushed forward, but it was Hakan Calhanoglu, who managed to close and put an end to it just before time, when he scored safely on a penalty kick to make it 2-0. With this, Inter Serie A leads comfortably with 13 points, down to AC Milan in second place.
