Fabrizio Romano on Erik ten Hag: the pressure and tension are growing.

Red Devils suffered a humiliating defeat to Tottenham, which has sparked a wave of speculation about Erik ten Hag’s position at the club. Fabrizio Romano has revealed important information about the situation at Manchester United.

INEOS have shown great confidence in Erik ten Hag, extending his contract and bringing in more players to strengthen his squad. In addition, the Dutchman has gained new assistants in the form of Rene Hake and Ruud van Nistelrooy. So far, the former Ajax manager has failed to live up to expectations, while Manchester United’s results have left much to be desired.

Despite everything, Fabrizio Romano is convinced that the club is still willing to give Erik ten Hag a chance to get out of the crisis.

Romano has commented on speculation surrounding Erik ten Hag and Manchester United reportedly having a “list” of potential replacements. Romano “can guarantee” Manchester United are “not talking to any manager now”.

“I’ve seen the stories but guys, no, I can’t confirm there is any list for managers to replace Erik ten Hag at the moment” – Romano said in his Daily Briefing column.

“I can guarantee that Man United are not talking to any manager now, because they want to see the team’s performance against Porto and Aston Villa before making any decision.”

“The club sees that the situation is not developing or improving, but for now their position remains that Erik ten Hag must be trusted. The next matches are certainly important for his future.”

Romano denies reports that Manchester United are in talks with other coaches, such as Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi, reiterating that a decision on Tag Haga will be made after the matches against FC Porto and Aston Villa.

“So, all links with all managers… nothing confirmed so far.”

“Also, there is nothing at all in the Inzaghi rumours as he’s fully focused on the project at Inter. I’ve honestly no idea where this is coming from.”

“The coming period will be crucial for Erik ten Hag’s long-term future at Manchester United” – concluded Romano.
