This summer, the young centre-back Jérémy Jacquet will start at Liverpool, contract already signed in February. Over the past week, reports have been coming in Liverpool and Ibrahima is all but in agreement. Thus, the Reds would enter a transfer window where the centre-back position does not have to be an issue. Now the opposite is reported.
First to the “everything is running smoothly” message. The hyperactive transfer journalist Romano jokingly stated on his youtube channel: “After long negotiations, after many months in contact, I can tell you today that these negotiations between the Liverpool management and Ibrahima Konate, the player and his camp, are coming to an end. The salary is almost agreed, the length of the contract is discussed. So that’s the point, number of years. There are some clauses that need to be clarified, but Konate and Liverpool have almost a new contract in place.”

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, this is no longer true, the journal site claims that the negotiations have now become bogged down.
“Ibrahima Konate will have his contract expire this summer, and my latest information is that the negotiations are in a dead end,” Ornstein told NBC Sports.
So, no done deal.
