When Alejandro Garnacho coiled himself in a bundle and exploded in a backwards scissor kick, United legend Gary Neville stated he would have broken his back if he had tried something similar as a player. The acrobatic goal was rewarded with Puska’s award in 2024, the Argentine youngster was hailed as one of the great talents in the Premier League. Last season, the 21-year-old got a real reality check, where newfound stardom meant nothing when Ruben Amorim entered the scene. Linked to exit since January, United manager Garnacho confirms has done his part.
So far, there has been no exit for Garnacho, but any way back to the United squad, there is not.

Ruben Amorim was asked about the player he gave a poor 20 minutes in the Europa League final and who is not playing for the USA.
“You can clearly see that Garnacho is talented, but sometimes it just doesn’t work. One cannot explain exactly why. My experience is, and I think it’s also clear, that Garnacho wants something different from his manager. I can understand that, and it’s not a problem,” Amorim begins, according to the Manchester Evening News.
“Sometimes you have to adapt. Other times you need a new challenge. We try to make it work for all parties. For the club, the coach and the player. It’s a natural thing in football,” says the United manager.
Based on this, it is quite clear that Garnacho and Ruben Amorim from the start “were doomed” to end with an exit. Amorim stayed, the 21-year-old is done.

The question is whether Enzo Maresca and Chelsea are willing to pay £40 million for a 21-year-old leaving United with Amorim’s reference being “talented, but sometimes it just doesn’t work”.
