Gianluigi Donnarumma could be the protagonist of the transfer market in the Premier League. The Italian goalkeeper, who currently plays for PSG, has attracted the interest of three of England’s most powerful clubs: Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City, all of whom are willing to take advantage of the tense contract situation between the goalkeeper and the Parisian club.

The relationship between Donnarumma and PSG is going through a difficult period. Despite having a contract until 2026, the 26-year-old goalkeeper is not willing to extend under the new terms the club has proposed – which includes a salary structure based on performance bonuses. The player’s representatives consider this unacceptable and demand a salary in line with his status as one of the world’s best goalkeepers.

PSG’s board, still feeling the loss of Kylian Mbappé on a free transfer, does not want to repeat the same mistake and has therefore opened the door to a sale this summer. The arrival of young Lucas Chevalier from Lille has also called into question Donnarumma’s role as the undisputed first goalkeeper.

Premier League match for Donnarumma

  • Manchester United: At Old Trafford, Manchester United are seriously considering signing the Italian as a possible replacement for André Onana, whose performances have raised doubts. They may be forced to sell players with high salaries, such as Onana himself, Sancho or even Garnacho.
  • Chelsea: Chelsea are also considering a signing due to a lack of confidence in Robert Sánchez. Although the Londoners have not yet made a formal offer, Donnarumma’s presence will provide the stability in the goalkeeper position they have been missing for several seasons.
  • Manchester City: Manchester City are monitoring the situation closely, despite the fact that they recently signed James Trafford. Guardiola does not rule out further strengthening the team in such an important position as the goalkeeper position.

Although Donnarumma has publicly expressed a desire to stay in Paris, PSG’s hard line and the growing interest in England could make him change his mind in the coming weeks.
