Kalvin Phillips. Brilliant under Marcelo Bielsa in the Leeds shirt, a type of player former England coach, Gareth Southgate, called unique. Then came the move to Manchester City in 2022 for £45 million – and Phillips’ upward curve of form turned south. Now City are fed up, which opens the only right door.
Injuries and poor form have meant that the Englishman has never broken through to Pep Guardiola’s team (many would say Guaridola’s machine football has ruined the creative player). For two seasons in a row, Philips has been on loan. First at West Ham, last season at Ipswich. Both stays without much success.

We have been waiting for the last few transfer windows for Leeds to understand they and Phillips need each other, according to the Daily Mail , Leeds have finally contacted the defensive midfielder for a potential transfer this winter.
For Manchester City, interest in a new loan spell in the Premier League is lukewarm. We’re guessing Leeds won’t have to go to great lengths to secure Phillips on a permanent transfer. For us, this will be a “final!”.
