After thorough discussions with his family and girlfriend, the German star player has accepted an offer from the redshirts. Liverpool offers a long-term contract worth up to €20 million gross annually.
Wirtz has already visited homes near Liverpool’s training ground and has personally informed both Max Eberl and Vincent Kompany of his decision. He thanked both of them for their interest, but the choice ultimately fell on Merseyside.
Liverpool are now in intensive talks with Bayer Leverkusen to secure a transfer fee of around €150 million. The club hopes to be able to present Wirtz as early as next week if everything goes as planned.
