The desire is no longer to fight his way back into top form at Old Trafford, but rather find it elsewhere, several articles describe that Rasmus Hojlund’s agent is actively working for the striker to leave Manchester United.

The Dane is coming off a very disappointing season both on a club and personal level. Hojlund was reluctantly the first choice at the top as Manchester United went through their worst season since the Premier League was established.

There are still some who remember Rasmus Højlund was good at Atalanta.

The 22-year-old was only able to score 10 goals in 52 games in the final season, which contributed significantly to the Red Devils’ problems.

Naturally, he has faced harsh criticism, just like his equally unproductive attacking partner Joshua Zirkzee. Both are now heavily linked with a departure from Old Trafford, as Man Utd are in desperate need of money.

The Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha for €74 million, and they are also in talks with Bryan Mbeumo, who is likely to cost a similarly large sum. However, it is understood that Man Utd only have around €100 million to spend, unless they raise significant funds through player sales.

Hojlund pushes for exit
TEAMtalk now claims that Hojlund and his agent are working on a summer transfer to get out of the chaos that is Manchester United. The Dane is said to be determined to return to Italy, where he previously had a short but successful spell at Atalanta.

Interestingly, the report claims that Juventus are showing the strongest interest in the 22-year-old right now, despite the fact that he has been linked with Champions League finalists Inter in recent days.

It should be noted that the Nerazzurri (Inter) have also shown interest in Hojlund, but according to sources, they have not yet taken concrete steps. Napoli also have Hojlund on their list of attacking options, but they have not made any approaches either.

As things stand, Man Utd will only approve a permanent exit for Hojlund, which could be problematic depending on their assessment of the striker.

They paid almost €80 million for him in 2023, so there is an understanding that he could be too expensive for Serie A clubs – unless Man Utd’s desperation causes them to soften their stance in the coming weeks.
