After last season, Ruben Amorim knows he has no reason to underestimate a single opponent in the Premier League. All clubs can beat each other on a good day in the world’s toughest league. Against Everton, the United manager knows “football dangers threaten”, especially from a Manchester City player who has been “unleashed” from Pep Guardiola’s machine football.

Amorim’s first home game in the Premier League was against Everton a good year ago, and a lot has happened since then. Not least with Monday’s guests, from the blue part of Liverpool.

“They are a better team now than they were then. So are we,” Amorim said in an interview with the Premier League.

“They are very compact. You can’t look at their results. You have to watch the games to understand that. They lost 0-3 to Tottenham, but if you watch the game, you would know the difference was set pieces,” the Portuguese said.

As you know, Jack Grealish is the player who can punish United, if they are not careful.

“Grealish is doing very well. He can lift the whole team a lot. Ndiaye is also an absolutely fantastic player, says Amorim and points to one of the tactical moves that he is impressed with.

“Everton can change the way they set up their midfield. You can sense that they change their midfield depending on which team they face. They could use James Garner at right-back, but it could also be O’Brien because of the set-pieces. All of this makes them a more complete team,” Amorim boasts.
