It’s horrible to say it, but Jadon Sancho has had a total absence of sporting success since his transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2021. In fact, his loan spell back at Dortmund in 2024 with the Champions League final was the only big upturn. Dortmund were still not willing to invest in their former superstar, at Manchester United there was no patience with the still young Sancho. On loan for the third time, Sancho once again annoys the supporters.

Sancho wore the Chelsea shirt last season with good individual appearances, but not enough to earn a permanent transfer to the London club. This season it is on loan at Aston Villa. On Sunday, the Birmingham club took a strong win against in-form City, but for Sancho this was another negative experience for the supporters.

Emery put Sancho on the pitch to put pressure on the City defence, but it clearly didn’t go as planned. When Sancho had played forty-five minutes, the 25-year-old was taken off the pitch again.

According to the Daily Mail, Sancho showed his great displeasure on his way off the pitch. Teammate Ross Barkley invited a high-five, but was ignored by Sancho, back on the bench, he allegedly gave Emery a cold shoulder when the Villa boss tried to talk to him.

Several Villa supporters had noticed the behavior, and were not slow to comment on it. Here is a selection:

“Sancho substituted and gives Emery an attitude. He is his own worst enemy.”

“Sancho’s body language when he is substituted… so bad. Emery moves towards him to embrace him and probably explain the reasoning, but Sancho clearly moves away to avoid him.”

“Even when Emery holds his hand, Sancho drags himself away. Terrible behavior.”

Since joining Villa in January, Sancho has yet to start a single league game for his new club, and has made a total of five appearances in all competitions, most of them from the bench.

Villa covers 80% of Sancho’s salary, there is no obligation to buy in the contract, but open to negotiations. Chelsea paid £5 million to buy out of the obligation to buy after the end of the loan period, we don’t think Jadon Sanchos will either get a long-term stay at Aston Villa with those performances and that attitude.
