Chelsea want to sign Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund.

The London club have previously made a bid of 35 million euros, which was rejected almost before the fax had ticked into the offices at Signal Iduna Park. Manager Niko Kovač, who has a high star after he managed to secure qualification for the Champions League in the last Bundesliga round, does not want to sell.

RMC Sport reports that Chelsea have made a new bid of €50 million, almost for the 20-year-old winger. German Sky writes that this time too, there was a contact no thanks from Dortmund.

The London club did not give up and later tonight they tried to jack up their bid to 55 million euros. Just before the first transfer window closed at 20:00 tonight, Chelsea were told that it was out of the question.

British Sky Sports, on the other hand, states that Chelsea will resume their attempt to sign him on Monday when the “normal” transfer window reopens, and that the Premier League giant will not pay an overprice.

RMC Sport has previously reported that Dortmund and Gittens have agreed on a seven-year contract in principle.

London-born Gittens has a background in Chelsea’s youth academy but joined Dortmund from Manchester City’s academy in September 2020. It is said that City have a clause of ten percent in the event of a resale.
