Four clubs are vying for the former Leicester star. Jamie Vardy is yet to find a new club this summer, but a new update reveals his preferred destination.

Vardy ended a brilliant 13-year career at Leicester City after the 2024/25 season, saying goodbye with his 200th goal in his 500th game against Ipswich Town.

After announcing his absence from “The Foxes” back in April, the 38-year-old was linked with a number of clubs as he looks to continue his impressive career.

Celtic as first choice
But even though football has resumed in England and several major leagues, Vardy is still clubless – and there has been little activity around his situation.

On Monday afternoon, however, Sky Sports gave an update on the Premier League winner and claimed that he has “set his heart on” a move to Scottish side Celtic.

A source said that Vardy has kept fit by training with a personal trainer and is “desperate” to reunite with Brendan Rodgers, with whom he worked at Leicester and won the FA Cup.

It is believed that Vardy still believes he can perform at a high level until he is 40, and believes he could be a useful option for the Scottish champions – especially in European football.

Other options
But Celtic are not the only option on the table. Premier League clubs West Ham and Brentford are both on the hunt for a new striker.

Vardy is also still being linked with ambitious Wrexham, who recently signed his former teammate Conor Coady after securing three consecutive promotions.

Wrexham’s commercial opportunities
“The Red Dragons”, owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have been extremely active in the transfer window, paying a club-record £7.5 million for Ipswich striker Nathan Broadhead.

They also brought in Welsh striker Kieffer Moore from Sheffield United, who suffered an ankle injury in his first official game.

A move to Wrexham would bring significant commercial benefits, and it is claimed that both Vardy and his wife Rebekah are interested in the opportunity to become part of the exciting project at the Racecourse Ground.

Vardy’s career choice
Although Celtic seems to be his first choice, the Premier League or Wrexham’s unique offer could finally decide where the legendary striker ends up.

With his experience and goalscoring flair, Vardy can still be a valuable asset to any club – whether it’s in Scotland, England, or even in the national league.
