Leicester City have officially confirmed that Jamie Vardy will leave the club at the end of the season.
Vardy, who was bought for just £1 million from non-league club Fleetwood Town in 2012, has become one of Leicester’s biggest legends and was a key player when they won the Premier League in 2016 and the FA Cup in 2021.
The 38-year-old has scored 198 goals in 495 appearances during his 13 seasons at the King Power Stadium, but the club announced on Wednesday that he will go on a free transfer when his contract expires in a few weeks.

In a statement on the club’s website, chairman Aiyawatt praised Srivaddhanaprabha Vardy’s contribution:
Vardy himself thanked fans in an emotional video posted on Leicester’s social media, where the club called him their “GOAT” (Greatest Of All Time).

Vardy has received several lucrative already including from MLS in the United States.

Vardy, who won the Premier League’s Golden Boot in 2019/20, has also been linked with clubs in Saudi Arabia, where his former teammate Riyad Mahrez plays. According to Fichajes, Saudi Arabia is the “most likely target” for the latter part of his career.
