It has become really popular for the winning team to sing that the opponent’s manager gets the sack. We saw Brann supporters singing against the Rangers manager a few days ago and now again in the clash between Liverpool and Brentford.
Jordan Henderson has revealed what he really thinks of Liverpool, after the team experienced their fourth straight Premier League defeat, while Brentford fans had a brutal message for manager Arne Slot.

Liverpool came into the Premier League match against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium in London on Saturday on the back of a 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany in the Champions League. That win put an end to a run of four straight losses across all competitions.
The defending Premier League champions were expected to build on their success and follow up their victory in Germany with another win over Brentford on Saturday night.
However, Liverpool lost 3-2 to Brentford and are now even behind Manchester United in the Premier League table. (Arsenal lead surprise team Sunderland)
The match also marked Jordan Henderson playing his first game against his former club Liverpool since leaving them in 2023.
Although the England midfielder was happy to see Brentford win, Henderson has assured Liverpool fans that they still have a “world-class” squad that will find form soon.
Henderson told TNT Sports: “From start to finish we stuck together, we knew it was going to be difficult at times.”
“Liverpool is a world-class team with world-class players. At times you have to defend and we did.”
“The way we defended together, the way we stayed together on the ball and tried to, instead of just kicking it far forward, play the long ball into the back of somebody who ran in – like Dams [Mikkel Damsgaard] did to Kev [Schade] on the second goal, and [Igor] Thiago was a threat the whole game and he’s been like that all season, to be honest.”
“All in all, I think it was a very good performance and we deserved the win in the end.”
The Brentford midfielder added: “If you look all over the pitch, there’s little to fault, they’re all quality players. I don’t really see any weaknesses in the team.”
“I know there have been results lately that haven’t been good for them, but for me they’re still top players and a top, top team and it’s only a matter of time before they find their rhythm and get going.”
“I think there have been reasons why they haven’t reached the heights of last season, but they’re still a world-class team and wherever you look on the pitch, they’re world-class players. So it’s always going to be difficult, but I thought the guys dug deep, held together and caused some problems on the counter-attack.”
Brentford fans ‘bully’ Liverpool manager Arne Slot
Henderson spent over a decade at Liverpool and was a central figure for the Merseyside club.
The 35-year-old won the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League once each during his time at Liverpool, as well as winning the EFL Cup twice.
When asked if it was strange to face Liverpool, Henderson said: “A little bit before the game, I think, because I had been at Liverpool for so long.”
“There will always be a part of me there. I had been there for so long. That was my life for 12 years.”
“It was a bit strange, but at the same time I knew that when the whistle blew, it was business as usual, and I was focused and ready, and I would be in the right mental state, which I was.”
While Henderson was praising Liverpool, Brentford fans were brutal in their assessment of Reds manager Arne Slot.
When Brentford led 3-2 over Liverpool in the final minutes of the game, Bees fans shouted “kick tomorrow morning” at Slot, according to BBC Sport.
The Liverpool Echo has also reported that “You’re getting sacked in the morning!” shouts came from the Brentford fans directed at Slot.
There have been rumours about Slot’s future at Liverpool in the wake of the recent results, but it is unlikely that the Premier League giants will sack the Dutchman anytime soon.
Slot led Liverpool to the Premier League title last season and was heavily supported in the 2025 summer transfer window, with players such as Alexander Isak, Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike among those who joined the club.
Although some Liverpool fans have questioned Slot’s tactics and have demanded the sacking, TEAMtalk understands that Fenway Sports Group (FSG) has no such plans.
TEAMtalk’s transfer insider, Dean Jones, said on October 20 about Slot and a new Liverpool contract
: “I’ve heard that early, initial contact has already been established to open more formal talks about extending his contract and how it might work, so it’s a gradual process that is expected to become more active over the course of this season.”
“It’s not something they have to decide on today or tomorrow because his current deal lasts until the summer of 2027, but ideally they will be in a position to do it by the end of the season.”
“Liverpool see this as a project that can work in the long term, in line with the careers of Jurgen Klopp or Rafa Benitez, but results will of course also dictate the length of his reign.”
“Maybe he’ll end up somewhere in between, like Brendan Rodgers – only time will tell.”
“For now, however, there is no knee-jerk reaction to the four straight losses in relation to how they see the future.”
“They will stand by him and hope that this turns around, so that everyone is happy with how things are going and so that they can ensure a long-term future.”
