Wolverhampton can thank the Norwegian 25-year-old striker from Halden, Jørgen Strand Larsen for not being halfway down in the Championship. Manager Vitor Pereira is fully aware of how important he is, something he told the world after the weekend’s 4-2 win at home at the Molineux Stadium against Tottenham.
“Larsen was fantastic”
Jørgen Strand Larsen, who has really had an awakening this season, is lightning efficient in front of goal. With five goals in four games, the prayer counters in the Premier League have found he only needed eleven shots. That gives an efficiency of 45.45 percent for the Norwegian striker.

Strand Larsen scored Wolverhampton’s third goal (we’ll admit it was an easy goal, but he was in the right place at the right time) and became the match-winner in Wolves’ fourth straight win.
Wolverhampton have after 32 games 35 points in 16th place. – There are 6 games left and with that 18 points to distribute and “only” 14 points down Ipswich in the first relegation place.

“It was a fantastic atmosphere, the last three games have been hugely important for us. Spurs haven’t had a brilliant season, but they’re still a good team with fantastic players. So it was incredible to build on that and win again,” Strand Larsen said to the BBC after the game and highlighted an important point. “Confidence is the most important thing in football. In a relegation battle, it is difficult to find confidence, especially for the strikers, we don’t get many chances”.
In a few days’ time, Wolverhampton will travel to Old Trafford and face a team completely without confidence. If Wolverhampton continue their winning streak at Old Trafford against Manchester United next weekend, they could actually go past the Red Devils. – A lot of goals are needed, but still there is a chance.
If that is the result, I doubt that Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim will survive in the job.
