Tromsø has become one of Norway’s very best clubs a little under the radar for most people. – Before this year’s Eliteserie season, all experts have a top four position for Tromsø, which after three rounds has a full pot.

Benfica have Tromsø midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl in their sights.
Tromsø leads the league, and the 20-year-old central midfielder is one of the big profiles. In 2025, he scored four goals and had four assists in 30 games. Already in 2026, he has netted four times in just two games – three league rounds have been played.
Jens Hjerto-Dahl was close to a transfer to Besiktas last summer. In Norway, however, they are sure that the player will not go to Turkey – he wants a bigger club in a bigger championship. Benfica is one of the clubs showing interest, but when they eventually move forward in the process, they will face tough competition.

The Premier League is also watching
The Norwegians mention several potential buyers, also in the Premier League. According to TV2, German Hamburg and English West Ham, along with Benfica, are among those who have shown the most ongoing interest in the player. Tromsø is aware that they are sitting on a gem and are demanding a high transfer fee – over 15 million euros.
Benfica are already working on building the team for next season, and the purchase of a central midfielder is on the agenda. Jens Hjerto-Dahl may be a relevant name.
