Joshua King’s dream is to return to Manchester United, where he played in his youth. Now it will be desert football rather than the Premier League.
The 33-year-old continues his career at Saudi Arabian Al-Khaleej.
Norwegian Joshua King has signed for Al-Khaleej in Saudi Arabia, where he will play until the summer of 2027.

The experienced striker has been without a club since his contract with Toulouse expired on June 30. In the meantime, the 33-year-old has stayed in shape by training with KFUM Oslo.
King, who has previously played for the Norwegian national team, was a Premier League profile until 2022. In recent years, he has played for Turkish Fenerbahçe and French Toulouse.
Al-Khaleej finished 12th in Saudi Arabia’s top division last season.
Slow career path to the top
King has an impressive club career behind him. Already as a 16-year-old in 2008, he joined Manchester United’s academy. After several loan spells, he signed permanently for Blackburn in 2013. The big breakthrough, however, came at Bournemouth, where he scored 16 Premier League goals in the 2015/16 season – his best season ever.
On the national team, King has accounted for 20 goals in 62 games.
Several Norwegians in Saudi Arabia
King is far from the first Norwegian to try his luck in Saudi Arabia. Gustav Wikheim played for Al-Fateh (2019–2022), while Mathias Normann was at Al-Raed from 2023 until this summer – now he is clubless.
Other Norwegian profiles who have played in the country include Liban Abdi (Al-Ettifaq), Amahl Pellegrino (Damac FC) and Pa-Modou Kah (Al-Wehda).
