Has delivered since he took over
Spalletti took over the helm at the end of October, when he replaced Igor Tudor. At the time, he only signed a short-term contract until the end of the season – a temporary solution that now looks set to be far more permanent.
Negotiations on a new agreement started several weeks ago, and according to Agresti, only small details remain before the parties can put the signatures on paper. The new contract will extend until June 2027, and includes an option for another season.
Solid average score since appointment
From a sporting point of view, Spalletti has delivered the goods. Juventus are in fifth place in Serie A, only one point behind Como in the coveted fourth place. Since taking over on October 30, the Italian has led the team to 16 wins in 29 games.
Only Inter and Milan have picked up more points than Juventus in the same period – a strong card in negotiations over the future. Now the old lady seems to be investing further in the man who has given the team both stability and results.
