Casemiro has had a revitalization of his career under Amorim, Mainoo has gotten his career into a third gear, instead of the turbo that was put on in the 2023/24 season. Now Mainoo will once again play a leading role in midfield.
It is nothing new that the 20-year-old is being linked with Napoli and Antonio Conte, but now it is gaining strength.

According to the major newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are actively in the process of signing Mainoo as soon as the January transfer window opens. Midfield general Kevin De Bruyne has picked up an injury that will keep him out of action until the New Year, plus a Frank Anguissa who will leave to represent Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations.
With the success of both McTominay and Hojlund, Napoli are aiming to lure Mainoo into the lead role alongside McTominay in Serie A. Kevin de Bruyne has previously shown he needs time to fully recover from injuries, Mainoo is offered to cover for one of the world’s greatest midfield generals.
