It’s a bit of an amusing comment for French superstar Kylian Mbappe when he tries to get Vinicius Junior to stay at Real Madrid rather than take a huge salary at Manchester City when he himself has extracted over a billion euros from Paris Saint-Germain and gone to court to get another 50 million euros.

The meaning is probably good when Kylian Mbappe confirms he wants Vinicius Junior to reject interest from Saudi Arabia and Manchester City to join Real Madrid this summer.

Vinicius has been linked with a very lucrative contract in the Middle East at the end of the 2024/25 season, with Al-Hilal looking to sign him following Neymar’s departure in January.

In addition, The Transfers Podcast has learned that Real Madrid are getting fed up with Vinicius’ wage demands and are even willing to sell the Brazilian international if they receive an attractive offer this summer.

However, Mbappe has admitted that he wants Vinicius to extend his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, despite the fact that the Brazilian is currently playing in his preferred position on the left wing.

“The relationship is very good. It’s normal for people to talk about us, about two famous players who stand out, but I came here with the idea of playing alongside Vinicius,” Mbappe told La Sexta.

“I can’t imagine a Real Madrid without Vini. We play well together, and we can be even better. People expect more from us, and that’s normal. We work well together, and now comes the most important part of the season. We will try to help Madrid win as much as possible.”

Mbappe reveals why he chose Real Madrid

Mbappe also confirmed why he turned down Saudi Arabia to sign for Real Madrid when he left Paris Saint-Germain.

“There are things that are more important than money,” the French striker admitted. “I wanted to play for Real Madrid, here at the Bernabeu. For me, the most important thing is to be happy.”

“I was absolutely sure (that I would end up in Madrid). I had great faith in my own abilities, and that was what I had wanted with all my heart since I was a child. I’ve always had the idea of playing for Real Madrid in my head.”
