In the summer of 2023, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was done at Anfield. Seasons of injuries, lack of playing time, but also titles, came to a natural end at the end of the contract for the former Arsenal player. Besiktas opened the door, making the Englishman one of the club’s highest paid, but success did not materialize for “Ox”. Neither did Ole Gunnar Solskjaer get any performances from the midfielder who defended his salary. Now it is reported that the Premier League club, which cannot handle another relegation, is knocking on the 32-year-old’s door.

Free agent Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with Leeds, where Daniel Farke and the gang have gone from a point split against Newcastle to a big loss against Arsenal, to victory against Everton and exit the League Cup after a tough cup loss to Sheffield Wednesday.

“A number of clubs have looked at him. He has a great CV, has played for Arsenal and Liverpool, and he has won the Champions League and Premier League from his time at Liverpool. Now that he has left Besiktas, clubs have been made aware of his availability, reports Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke.

“There is interest from clubs in the Premier League, Championship and across Europe, including Leeds and Birmingham. So I’m sure he’s ready to return to England after a couple of years away, and I expect something will happen to his future soon.”
