Azaz was ready for St Mary’s Stadium at the start of the season, joining from league rivals Middlesbrough.

Since arriving at the club, he has played a key role, and Tonda Eckert has been full of praise for the impact he has had since taking over from Will Still.
“Also something that is not as visible is the way he uses himself when we don’t have the ball. If you could see the distances he puts in. And he uses himself, and is able to play 90 minutes again and again and again and again. I think it shows that he is developing. He’s a top grade, and a top player to have in the team, and I think there’s a lot more to bring. I never doubt his quality. He has been outstanding.”

Farke is said to have given the green light, and the Leeds boss is also said to be interested in the 25-year-old, who has scored nine goals in the Championship so far this season.
Leeds are not the only club showing interest. Another Premier League club, Brighton, is also scouting Azaz, who moved to St Mary’s from Middlesbrough for a transfer fee of around £12 million last summer.
Whether Southampton will be willing to sell Azaz remains to be seen, but they are in a strong negotiating position, as he will have three years left on his contract in the summer.
Finn Azaz is a dynamic attacking midfielder with strong dribbling, creativity, and work capacity.
Leeds United under Daniel Farke prioritize ball possession, positional play and vertical combinations.
Azaz’s ability to connect the game and lead the ball into half-space is well suited to Farke’s build-up phases.
His pressing and contributions in transitions match Farke’s collective defensive triggers.
Technical level supports intricate patterns, but consistency against top defenders is required.
May need adaptation to strict tactical roles and defensive responsibilities.
Conclusion: A good stylistic match, especially as a creative engine in advanced midfield.
