When the smoke had cleared after it became clear Leeds are back in the Premier League, Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe was asked by the BBC about his plan for the transfer market before the start of the season in the world’s toughest league. “Together we will build the best squad we can, with every penny we are allowed to spend to be competitive in the Premier League”, it came offensively. Now reports about the transfer budget are seeping out, Leeds supporters can rejoice.
Earlier in the week, Football Insider’s sources reported Leeds were targeting 10 reinforcements to ensure the club doesn’t take the elevator directly down to the Championship, like Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester this season.

This sounds like a sensible plan, but what do Leeds have at their disposal when the transfer market opens?
According to Football Insider’s sources, Leeds have manoeuvred their way to a transfer budget (including wages) of a very solid £150 million.
Compared to Manchester United, who barely stayed out of the relegation battle and have to sell players in large numbers to be able to sign reinforcements, this is a “dream budget”.
