Leeds are back in the Premier League after winning the Champions League by exactly 100 points, the same as second-placed Burnley.

Leeds United have secured German striker Lukas Nmecha on a two-year contract.

Born in Hamburg, the striker began his early playing career in Manchester City’s academy and made his Premier League debut in 2018, before gaining further experience on loan at Preston North End, Middlesbrough and Anderlecht.

After also spending time on loan with Wolfsburg, he made the transfer permanent and has since made 73 appearances, scoring 19 times in the league and cup. He has scored 43 goals in senior football matches in Germany, England, Belgium, in all competitions, including the UEFA Champions League.

Nmecha comes on a free transfer from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg, where he has played for the past four years.

The 26-year-old started his career at Manchester City and made his Premier League debut under Pep Guardiola in 2018.

He had loan spells at Preston North End, Wolfsburg, Middlesbrough and Anderlecht before moving permanently to the Bundesliga in 2021.

That same year, he made his debut for the German national team, and played his last of a total of seven international matches in 2022.

Nmecha, who scored 19 goals in 85 games in his second spell at Wolfsburg, will be Daniel Farke’s first summer signing and will officially become a Leeds player from July 1.
