There should be no doubt that Florian Wirtz was highly wanted at Bayern Munich. The club president, honorary president, sporting director and probably also the caretaker, went public and told Germany’s super talent had to choose the Bundesliga and Germany’s biggest club. It was the Premier League and Liverpool. Legend Karl-Heinz Rummenigge believes the 22-year-old is missing out on something bigger.

Florian Wirtz chose Liverpool early on, the attacking midfielder has thus enjoyed a full pre-season at Liverpool. Lkevel, the “production pace” in front of the opponents’ goal has not picked up to the level of Bayer Leverkusen after 7 games with 1 assist.

If we are to believe Rummenigge, Wirtz will regret not choosing Bayern Munich and playing with Germany’s other great attacking talent, Jamal Musiala (currently out injured).

“I have to be honest, when it comes to Florian Wirtz, I think it’s a shame, because I think the player would be better off at Bayern Munich than at Liverpool,” Rummenigge said this week in an interview with Sport Bild.

Short and cash.

Then we will see if Rummenigge will have reason to feel more sorry for Wirtz in the coming months.
