Last season, it was Van Dijk, Salah and Alexander-Arnold who were on expiring contracts with long and intense negotiations over an extension. This spring, it’s Ibrahima Konaté’s turn. In the transfer to July, the France international could walk out as a free agent, with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and PSG ready to secure the centre-back. Now a major French newspaper reports that Liverpool are about to win this match.
There has been no doubt that the Liverpool management wants Konaté on board. Even with some really weak games and reactions from Liverpool supporters, the Frenchman has shown his importance in his 174 appearances for the Reds .

So where do the negotiations end? This week, L’Équipe, which follows its France internationals closely, reports that it is more likely that Konaté will sign a new contract with Liverpool, who are said to be pushing for a long contract, than that the 26-year-old will leave Anfield.
