Bayern Munich secured the Premier League’s best tackler during the 2022-24 season in a Fulham shirt. Joao Palhinha made 300 tackles in two seasons, 109 more than any other player. In the Bundesliga, the Portuguese disappeared from the starry sky. After 25 games in a Bayern shirt, the Portuguese hard-core is back in the Premier League, in the second round of the league the 30-year-old showed what Tottenham have acquired in the squad.
Palhinha made his league debut at the Etihad Stadium with a 0-2 win, continuing Tottenham’s 100 per cent good start to the new season. He picked up the game where he left off in the top division with an effort full of tackles and interceptions.

Incredibly, despite spending a full year away for England’s top division with Bayern in the Bundesliga, only two players have managed to tackle their way past the midfielder in terms of tackles – Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo (305) and Everton’s Idrissa Gueye (303).
