Liverpool are struggling in the Premier League, supporters are denigrating Arne Slot, but no one should forget this is the club that played its way to the title in the world’s toughest league and lifted the trophy six months ago. In the transfer market, the club have secured almost all the players they have pointed to, but even Liverpool now have to realise Plan A is not feasible.

In recent months, Michael Olise has been heavily linked with Liverpool. Having played a part in 62 goals at Bayern Munich (29 goals, 33 assists) in 73 games, Olise delivers much like a Mo Salah at the top – making it easy to see why Reds are keen to bring the Frenchman to Anfield.

Teamtalk’s sources have this week reported the reigning Premier League champions here face bolted and closed doors. German transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg explains the situation with Olise.

According to Plettenberg, the Liverpool management loves Olise, but knows that there is little chance of luring him away from Bayern.

“Liverpool are a fan of Michael Olise and see him as a future dream target. However, despite other reports, they are not planning a bid at this stage. He is not currently a concrete transfer target for LFC. Main reasons: He has no buyout clause in his contract, FC Bayern are not open to talks, and Olise himself is not inclined to leave,” the German reports on previous twitter.

Adding that the Merseyside club has set their sights on Plan B in the Premier League: “Liverpool are currently focusing on Antoine Semenyo.”
