Arne Slot is expected to be busy when the transfer window opens this summer, despite the fact that both Mohamed Salah and captain Virgil van Dijk have taken two more years.
A former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys claims that Liverpool are ‘absolutely confident of signing’ two highly valued stars in the summer transfer window.
With Liverpool just three points away from securing the Premier League title in 2024/25, some fans have already started thinking about next season and how manager Arne Slot will line up the team. The Dutch manager has promised fans that Liverpool – after a quiet transition year – will be active when the window opens in June, with several big names linked with Anfield.

Before the window opens, a well-known football commentator has spoken out about how he thinks Liverpool’s transfer business will develop, naming two players he believes are safe signings.
It’s no secret that Liverpool want a new striker for next season, after both Diogo Jota and Darwin Núñez have disappointed during this campaign.
In addition to a new number nine, it seems likely that they will bring in a replacement for Andrew Robertson at left-back, as the Scot is starting to show signs of ageing and is not at the same level as before.
But former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys is confident that Arne Slot will solve both of these challenges now that star players Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have signed new contracts – and he knows exactly who Liverpool are going to get.
In his blog, Keys wrote:
“I want to say this to Slot: Renewing van Dijk and Salah’s contracts is NOT the same as signing two new players. It’s the right thing to do, but if Liverpool are to be competitive next season, they really need new reinforcements.
“Two safe signings are Isak and Kerkez, but even that won’t be enough.”
Isak sought after by top clubs
After an impressive season for Newcastle United, Alexander Isak has been linked with almost every top club in Europe, and many will probably be vying for his signature this summer.
The Swedish international has scored 21 goals in 30 Premier League games this season, confirming that he is one of Europe’s greatest attacking talents.
On the other side of the pitch, Milos Kerkez has proven to be an exciting talent after a breakthrough season with Bournemouth.
However, if Liverpool hope to sign the two stars, they will have to fork out: Kerkez is expected to cost around £40 million, while Newcastle will demand around £120 million to let their star player leave.
