Liverpool are willing to let Trent Alexander-Arnold go to Real Madrid before this year’s Club World Cup, but only under certain conditions.
It emerged back in March that Alexander-Arnold was close to a move to Madrid when his Liverpool contract expires. Although reports of a full agreement were seen as somewhat premature, there is a broad consensus that the England right-back will take his talents to Spain this summer.

The challenge for Real Madrid is that Alexander-Arnold will only become a free player on July 1, while the Spanish giants want him ready for the Club World Cup that starts on June 13.
FIFA has opened up a temporary transfer window that makes an early transfer possible, but it requires Liverpool to agree to release him from his contract early.
Liverpool’s conditions
According to AS, Liverpool, who have not yet completely given up hope of keeping Alexander-Arnold, have nevertheless opened up for an early transfer after their championship campaign is over.
Liverpool makes the following demands:
- Alexander-Arnold must forgo salary for the whole of June
- Real Madrid will have to pay a transfer fee of €1 million.
In total, Liverpool will thus earn just over €1.8 million, rather than losing him completely without compensation just two weeks later.

Special Transitional
The temporary transfer window opens on June 1, giving clubs participating in the Club World Cup ten days to complete signings before the tournament starts.
The window will then close temporarily before reopening on June 16 and lasting until September 1.
This puts Alexander-Arnold in a unique position where his future club wants him with immediate effect, while his current employer makes clear demands to allow an early transfer.
