Casemiro is in his last months at Manchester United, and there is intense work at Old Trafford to position himself to find the “perfect” replacement. Several players inside and outside the Premier League are on the block with the United management, a Frenchman is said to be high up on the wish list. Liverpool intend to change this, it is reported.
Kephren Thuram is seen as the “perfect” Casemiro replacement, Thuram’s eye, close control, strength and game intelligence have made him one of Juventus’ best and most valuable players. Last season, Italian coach Giovanni Martusciello called Thuram “extraordinary”.

The French midfielder signed with the Serie A giant in 2024 in a €21 million transfer. At Nice, he made 167 appearances, so far the 24-year-old has 86 appearances for the Bianconeri, with seven goals and twelve assists.
The French international has had a lot of interest from the big clubs in the Premier League for a long time, before the summer transfer window comes to a head.
According to Caughtoffside’s sources “close to the agent business”, the Unted management sees Thuram as a player who can replace Casemiro, but where Liverpool have elbowed themselves to the front of the queue and geared up the activity. The reigning Premier League champions have reportedly sent signals about an opening bid of €45 million, the sources claim.
Liverpool want more physical presence in midfield, athletic Thuram can contribute to this, in a role as a traditional box-to-box midfielder, shielding the defence in deeper areas or driving forward to support attacking transitions.

Thuram is still part of Juventus’ long-term project, but if Liverpool, Manchester United (and Arsenal, who are also showing interest) come with full force, no player will be “untouchable”.
