Liverpool are reportedly prepared to sell Darwin Nunez in the January transfer window and have already decided on their ideal replacement.
Since joining from Portuguese club Benfica in 2022 for a fee of around €85 million, Nunez has struggled to reach the heights expected of him at Liverpool and has now fallen out of favour with new manager Arne Slot.
He started most of Liverpool’s games at the start of the season, but was later replaced by Diogo Jota on his return. And now, it seems that Liverpool may have decided to part ways with Nunez as they are reportedly prepared to accept an offer for him and replace him with Slot’s ideal target.
According to TEAMtalk, AC Milan, who have just changed manager, have come up with a proposal for a loan deal with an obligation to buy in the summer.

The report claims that Slot has not been impressed with the striker in training or during matches, which led to him being left out of Liverpool’s starting line-up in recent games. Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram.
Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak is also highly admired at Liverpool, but the price needed to bring him to Anfield could be too high.
Meanwhile, Thuram’s current contract with Inter includes a €85 million release clause, much cheaper than any potential deal for Isak.
While they have been pleased with the French striker’s performances recently, it is believed that Inter will also be open to negotiating a fee with the Reds that would be close to the price set in his buyout clause.
