It’s no secret that Liverpool are interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck.

Nico Schlotterbeck’s agents have held preliminary talks with a number of clubs, including Liverpool. – Schlotterbeck’s current contract with Borussia Dortmund expires in 2027, but he has so far rejected their approaches to a new deal.
Schlotterbeck’s team does not rule out signing a new contract at Signal Iduna Park, but he wants to know what options might be available to him if he moves.

Bayern Munich have emerged as clear favourites for the German international, but Real Madrid and Barcelona are also linked with him.
But there is also interest from the Premier League, we can confirm that contact has been made with Liverpool, who have followed his path for over 12 months.

Liverpool go into 2026 with great needs in central defence, and they could well bring in two new defenders in the next two transfer windows, and Schlotterbeck is certainly on their radar.

Unlike two other Liverpool targets, Marc Guehi and Dayot Upamecano, who are both potentially available on free transfers in the summer, Schlotterbeck is likely to cost close to £50 million – if Dortmund agree to a sale.

A lucrative offer, as always, could tempt Dortmund, who are no strangers to making big money from their best players.

A move to the Premier League is more than possible, and sources told us that Liverpool will have a say in where the left-footer ends up.
Furthermore, the fact that he is left-footed makes him extra attractive to Liverpool, who will eventually need to replace Virgil van Dijk on the left side of their central defence.

Sir David Beckham has finally done it!
