Liverpool have already signed Jeremie Frimpong this summer, but Arne Slot is in the process of adding a new player to the squad of the Anfield club.

The Reds are completing their most ambitious transfer window ever, despite winning the Premier League last year. Slot and his men have spent €40 million to sign the German full-back from Bayer Leverkusen, but there is far more to come.

Florian Wirtz is expected to arrive from the Bundesliga giants for a potential Premier League record fee, but first, Milos Kerkez is set to join the Merseyside club from Bournemouth.

Journalist Rudy Galetti reports that the final details of the deal will be adjusted.

“Liverpool are about to complete the final steps for Milos Kerkez,”

“The deal is almost done between Liverpool and Bournemouth for around €50 million, plus performance-based bonuses such as a final transfer fee.

“A five-year contract was already agreed with the player several days ago.”

The 21-year-old Kerkez was one of the biggest breakthrough talents in the Premier League last year, where he was a regular piece for Bournemouth.

He proved to be an attacking threat by contributing two goals and six assists, suggesting that he is well placed to challenge Andrew Robertson for a regular place in the starting line-up at Anfield. With Frimpong also on the way in, there could be big changes for Liverpool at full-back.

Kerkez’s transfer fee of €50 million is actually lower than FootballTransfers’ Estimated Transfer Value (ETV), which stands at €61.5 million. This suggests that Liverpool are getting good value for the player, who has also attracted interest from Real Madrid this summer.

With this deal almost in place, the focus will gradually shift towards Wirtz, whose move from Leverkusen is expected to cost at least €130 million.

Once signed alongside Frimpong and Kerkez, Liverpool will have spent around €220 million this transfer window – making them the clear spending leaders so far this summer.
