Hours before kick-off, it was decided that Saturday’s match at Goodison Park between Everton and Liverpool will be cancelled due to extreme weather.
Already yesterday morning it became clear that storm Darragh would hit the Merseyside area and that today’s match could be cancelled. Everton and the local authorities have confirmed the decision in the early hours of the morning today.
“Due to Storm Darragh, Everton have agreed to postpone today’s Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on the advice of the city’s security board,” Liverpool City Council wrote in a statement.
