Liverpool striker Darwin Núñez looks set to leave Anfield this summer, and TWO Premier League clubs are strongly considering signing the Uruguayan international.
The 25-year-old was a key player under Jürgen Klopp but has struggled to secure a regular place in Arne Slot’s starting line-up. Núñez has scored just seven goals across all competitions this season, and all indications are that he will be sold.

Atletico Madrid and Newcastle are in the match
Atletico Madrid have shown interest in Núñez, with Diego Simeone referred to as an admirer of the striker. Atletico have started to consider the financial possibility of a transfer, and the good relationship between the two clubs could make negotiations easier.
Newcastle are also monitoring the situation closely. With Liverpool and Arsenal interested in their own star striker Alexander Isak, the Magpies are looking for possible replacements – although they will fight to keep Isak and could ask for up to £150 million for him.
Newcastle reportedly have a shortlist with the likes of Viktor Gyökeres, Liam Delap and Victor Boniface, but Núñez is also a current candidate. However, they could face competition from another Premier League club.
Nottingham Forest also in the game
TEAMtalk writes that Nottingham Forest are also monitoring Núñez’s situation and are considering a summer coup.
A new striker is a priority for Nuno Espírito Santo, and both Gyökeres and Victor Osimhen have been linked with the club. If Forest secure a Champions League place – which they are on their way to doing – they plan to strengthen more positions. According to sources, Núñez is one of the profiles they are considering, along with Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman, who has been on their radar for a long time.

The exit is almost certain
Since Slot has not been convinced by Núñez since his first weeks at Liverpool, and with several clubs interested, it seems almost inevitable that the Uruguayan will disappear.
Liverpool will need to bring in a new striker to replace him, and work on this has already started behind the scenes.
The battle for Núñez’s signature is in full swing. Besides personal terms, a significant transfer fee will be required to secure him – Liverpool are willing to sell, but not at a low price.
Will Núñez stay in the Premier League, or will it be Spain who counts? The summer could be very interesting for the former Benfica striker.
