Liverpool kept Mo Salah and Van Dijk on expiring contracts last summer, but lost Alexander-Arnold. This season, it is Ibrahima Konaté who is in negotiating position, another player neither Arne Slot nor the supporters want to lose. Van Dijk and Salah negotiations only came to fruition at the end of the season, Liverpool do not intend to play the same game with the French international.
According to Caughtoffside’s sources, Liverpool have now made a new contract offer to Konaté in an attempt to keep the centre-back. The Reds will not make the Frenchman another offer if he declines, the offer on the table will already make the 26-year-old one of the club’s highest-paid players. According to the source, Liverpool have thus made the latest offer with an ultimatum: Sign, or be sold in January.
