Napoli have reportedly made an initial bid of €43 million for Liverpool striker Darwin Núñez, in an intensified search for the 25-year-old Uruguayan.
Antonio Conte’s side have had a busy start to the transfer window after their Serie A triumph in May, and now they are looking to further strengthen their attacking line after securing Kevin De Bruyne on a free transfer.

Núñez’s turbulent time at Liverpool may be over
Núñez has had a difficult three-year spell at Anfield, and Liverpool are now willing to sell him to limit their losses after a transfer that cost €85 million in 2022.
Several clubs, including Arsenal, have shown interest, but Napoli have suddenly emerged as favourites to secure his signature. According to Football Italia, they have already made a verbal opening offer of €42-43 million.
However, Liverpool are sticking to a desired price of €50 million in order to recoup as much as possible of their initial investment.

Napoli are also looking at Udinese striker Lorenzo Lucca as an option.

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Could Osimhen be Núñez’s replacement at Liverpool?
At the same time, Liverpool have been linked with a transfer for Victor Osimhen. The 26-year-old Nigerian international scored 37 goals in 41 appearances for Galatasaray last season and is in demand by several top clubs, including Al-Hilal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
Liverpool are considering him as an alternative to Alexander Isak and Julián Álvarez, but it is unclear whether they can match his wage demands of at least €12 million annually.
Will this be a trade?
A potential transfer between Núñez and Osimhen could be on the cards, but a lot depends on whether Napoli increase their bid or if Liverpool are willing to lower their demand.
