Liverpool are heading towards potentially major changes in the squad with several of the big boys on expiring contracts with no solution in the negotiating room. At the same time, the Premier League’s best club has decided to upgrade at left-back.
Ever-young Andrew Robertson has been a giant at left-back, but signals over the past six months are that Liverpool are planning transfer activity to this position. In addition, there is a contract expiration just around the corner, in the summer of 2026. Several candidates have been mentioned, according to Ben Jacobs of GiveMeSport, Liverpool have turned towards Bournemouth.
In line with Bournemouth’s success in the Premier League this season, Hungarian Milos Kerkez has excelled on the left wing. According to Jacobs, Liverpool have thrown themselves into the race for the former AZ Alkmaar player.
Bournemouth brought Kerkez to the club in 2023, so after 63 games on the ball island, Liverpool are convinced of the speed, power, technique and potential of the 21-year-old.
According to the English journalist, Liverpool will have to look up solid for the left-back if they are to convince Bournemouth. Expectations are up to three times the transfer fee they paid themselves a year and a half ago.
For Liverpool, this means around £40 million, but after following Kerkez this past season for the Premier League’s 7th best club, it seems like a reinforcement for the long run.
