Liverpool show no signs of slowing down their transfer activities after securing Florian Wirtz, and are now in the process of negotiating for a player who scored over 40 goals last season.
Record transfer followed by new chase The
Reds recently completed a British record transfer when they signed Wirtz for €136 million from Bayer Leverkusen. The German international became the club’s second summer signing after Jeremie Frimpong, while Milos Kerkez is on his way to Anfield next week.

With these deals in place, Liverpool are now looking for a new striker – and according to DaveOCKOP, they have named young promising teenager Will Wright from Salford City as their next target.
Wright
has previously been linked with both Arsenal and Manchester City, and played for Salford in an 8-0 defeat to Pep Guardiola’s side in the FA Cup earlier this season.
The 17-year-old striker has mostly played for Salford’s youth team, but scored over 40 goals at academy and reserve level in the just concluded season.
A quick and physical goal thief,
Wright is described as a strong and fast attacking player who thrives in the opponent’s box. He is good at running behind the defenders and finding space to finish.
Liverpool are betting on the future at the same time
Although Liverpool have now shown a willingness to spend large amounts of money on established star material with the Wirtz signing, they have not forgotten to plan for the future.

Already this summer, they have brought in the young Hungarian goalkeeper talent Armin Pecsi, and they have a tradition of recruiting English talent. 12 months ago, they signed Rio Ngumoha, and in recent years they have also brought in players like Trey Nyoni, Bobby Clark, Harvey Elliott and Kaide Gordon at a young age.
What will be Wright’s role?
If the transfer goes well, Wright will most likely start in the U21 team, as the above players did. However, since he is also eligible for the U18s, it will be interesting to see how Liverpool plan to develop him long-term.
With a mix of star signings and young talent, Liverpool seem to be balancing their current and future investment under Arne Slot.
