Bournemouth will demand £45 million to let Liverpool-linked left-back Milos Kerkez leave, according to a report.

The Cherries paid around £15 million for Kerkez in the summer of 2023 under former technical director Richard Hughes – who has now taken over a leadership role at Anfield and is heavily tipped to chase a reunion with the Hungarian international this summer.

With two goals and six assists this season, Kerkez has been among the Premier League’s best left-backs and is expected to be a key target for Liverpool. When asked about a possible move to Anfield, the 21-year-old did not hold back his dream of playing at the top level.

According to The Times, it will cost £45 million to sign Kerkez this summer, with Bournemouth’s demand for a purely cash deal.

There have been rumours that Bournemouth are after Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher, but it is stressed that there is no interest in a swap deal.

Bournemouth have no need to sell any of their biggest talents, but acknowledge that they currently serve as a platform for young players to secure expensive transfers to bigger clubs. They therefore do not want to put obstacles in the way of players who want to move.

In addition to Kerkez, Bournemouth are also preparing for Liverpool interest in winger Antoine Semenyo. However, with four years left on his contract, he is likely to demand a club-record sum if sold.

Liverpool’s interest in Kerkez comes after a lackluster season from Scotland international Andy Robertson, who recently stated that he has been made a scapegoat for criticism from fans.

Robertson is prepared to fight for his place in Liverpool’s starting eleven, even if Kerkez arrives. Greek international Kostas Tsimikas, on the other hand, could be put up for sale.

Negotiations are expected to intensify, Liverpool are under pressure to strengthen their defensive side ahead of the 2024/25 season.
