Stan Collymore knows the weight of wearing the Liverpool shirt with his 81 appearances and 35 goals in red. After the 2-2 draw against Aston Villa, there are some Liverpool supporters who see the roof of the Premier League trophy loosening with a “not again!”. In the 2018/29 season, Liverpool had a seven-point lead after twenty games played, the title still went to Manchester City. Collymore is now offering advice to ensure that the title does not slip away this time.

Firstly, Collymore turns a two-point loss to Villa into a strong point away from home.

“For Liverpool, it’s another excellent away point. They’ve had some very tough games recently, including the derby last week, and they’ve still only lost one game in the Premier League,” Collymore begins to Caughtoffside.

-The derby is always decided “by coin toss”. I think a lot of people, especially Liverpool supporters of a younger generation, got used to the Everton game being guaranteed three points, especially in the Gerrard years, but those are games that are fought hard,” the former Liverpool player continues.

Who thus does not see the two results as “now everything goes to football hell”.

-Liverpool just need to use old school tactics now; win your home games, pick up points away from home. All Liverpool need to do now is essentially keep their nerves in check, says wise man Collymore.

This means that despite Liverpool’s dominance in the Premier League, away from home they should secure points and not race away for win-or-nothing. If Arsenal win their next game, the gap to the London club is 5 points.

With a win at home and cynically taking points away from home, this will go very well, Collymore promises.
